Road Snacks Available for Holiday Travelers in the Bluegrass Region Kentucky Native and Singer-Songwriter Senora May offers Vocals Promoting the Journey

It’s that time of the year when travelers think about going over the river and through the woods to visit their relatives in the Bluegrass state for the holidays, and Kentucky Tourism is debuting a campaign promoting travel with friends and loved ones using “Road Snacks” as a vehicle to pay homage to Kentucky’s Bluegrass Region charm and timeless road trip traditions.

Through a partnership with iconic local brands such as Ale-8-One, Mingua Beef Jerky, Ruth Hunt Candies, and Feelin’ Your Oats by Hallway Feeds, Kentucky’ Tourism’s Bluegrass Region is out to make those road trips a little more fun.

Custom-designed packages were created to bring together the brands and spotlight celebrated landmarks from the Kentucky Bluegrass Region, and are available for viewing at select tourism partners.

A total of eight different snack packs depicting 16 different scenic Kentucky landmarks were created, and each pack contains four cans containing one each of Minga Beef Jerky, Feelin’ Your Oats Granola made by Hallway Feeds, Blue Monday candies from Ruth Hunt, and an Ale-8-One soft drink.

The limited-edition snack packs are going fast at each of the tourism offices of the participating counties.

“As people travel back home to Kentucky for the holidays to visit family and friends, we wanted to celebrate the small towns in the Bluegrass region and pay tribute to some of our local companies who make snacks and sodas enjoyed worldwide,” said Robbie Morgan, director of the Lawrenceburg/Anderson County Tourism Commission. “While the snack packs are not actually for sale, we are promoting the idea of appreciating the beauty of Kentucky’s iconic destinations while supporting delicious treats from some of our favorite locally-owned businesses.”

Singer-songwriter Senora May, who is from Estill County in Eastern Kentucky, both narrates and provides musical background for a promotional video encouraging travelers to hit the road and enjoy the sites of Kentucky.
