Restaurant dining rooms can partially reopen May 22

The days of dining in at restaurants in Lawrenceburg have returned, but don’t expect to crowd your favorite eatery with all of your family and friends.

Restaurants around Kentucky are allowed to reopen their dining rooms, but at 50 percent of the building’s seating capacity. While many owners are ready to welcome customers back inside, be prepared to get carryout or use the drive through if the restaurant is already at capacity when you get there. Outdoor seating is also an alternative at some restaurants. A few restaurants have chosen to just stick with carryout or drive through service for now.

Restaurant owners will all be required to abide by the state’s Healthy at Work guidelines.

Before you head out to one of your favorite Lawrenceburg restaurants (click here for information about each), here is a look at how they are adapting to the guidelines going into effect on May 22 and how they are preparing to serve their customers:

  • Best Donut – You’ll be able to come inside the building to order, but you will have to wear a mask if you do. You can continue to use their drive through window as well.
  • Big Jack’s Café – This will be Lawrenceburg’s newest restaurant, but they are still putting finishing touches on their Eagle Lake location and won’t be able to open by May 22. They will be welcoming customers soon, though.
  • Bluegrass Sabor – They will be open from 4-8 p.m. on May 20-21, then return to their previous 11 a.m.-9 p.m. schedule on May 22. They’ll have inside seating, along with seating on the sidewalk (weather permitting). Call in orders to go will still be accepted.

They will have an employee constantly circulating to clean as customers come and go.
  • Casa Bonita – They are reopening their dining area on May 25, with a limit of 43 customers inside at a time. Those who arrive and find the restaurant at capacity can give their name and phone number and then wait in their car to be called as seating becomes available. Staff are required to masks and customers are encouraged to wear them until your food arrives. They continue to offer carryout service.
