Lawrenceburg hosting Gold Wing road riders convention from 2020-2022

Honda Gold Wing road riders from around Kentucky will be coming to Lawrenceburg each August for three years, starting in 2020, for their annual convention.

The Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Kentucky District announced Saturday during the last day of their 2019 Kentucky Blast District Convention in Cave City that their annual convention will be held in Lawrenceburg from 2020-2022.

The group has held its annual convention in Cave City for the past four years, but they change locations every few years to allow members to see, and ride in, different areas of Kentucky.

The Lawrenceburg/Anderson County Tourism Commission approached the Gold Wing riders about holding their convention in Lawrenceburg and helped secure the locations they’ll need for their meetings and other activities.

Along with riding some of the beautiful backroads in and near Anderson County, members of the association will have meetings and events at their base camp, which will be American Legion Post #34 in Lawrenceburg. There are also plans to hold some events in downtown Lawrenceburg, including some that will be open to the public. Details about those events will be announced closer to the 2020 convention.

The Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Kentucky has seven chapters across the state, with each chapter holding events throughout the year. The Kentucky Blast District Convention brings all of those groups together for fellowship, rides, safety lessons, and visits to local points of interest.
