Join neighbors, friends, and family downtown on Monday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. as the Christmas season is officially kicked off with the flip of the switch that will power up the Christmas lights for the first time this year. Lee and Haley from WLEX will do the honors this year, filming the countdown and powering on of the lights to air on their show later in the week.
Stick around after and visit Santa, enjoy some complimentary hot chocolate, have your family’s picture taken inside of a giant inflatable snow globe, visit the live nativity scene, and be part of other fun activities that are planned.
There will be a performance by the Lawrenceburg Children’s Choir, roving Christmas carolers, and Christmas stories read to children inside Heavens to Betsy! restaurant, Bluegrass Sabor, and Lawrenceburg Academy of Performing Arts. A free ornament-making workshop will be held at the library from 4-5 p.m., giving participants enough time to finish and walk downtown before the lighting ceremony begins.
This event is sponsored by the City of Lawrenceburg, Kindermusik, Anderson Public Library, Barrel Heads, Commonwealth Credit Union, Anthem, Anderson County Community Theatre, Alton Christian Church and the Lawrenceburg/Anderson County Tourism Commission.
