Tourism receives grants for “transformational” growth in the County.

Anderson County tourism has soared back from the COVID slump with determination. With more money being brought into the county from tourism than pre-pandemic, opportunities exist for even more increase. The state agrees, as they have awarded two significant grants to county tourism to capitalize on their momentum.

The first grant, awarded on November 14, was for $19,402. With the 10% matching funds that was required, the amount total is $21.342. Those funds will be uses for marketing.

“The monies are designated for “transformational” campaigns. That is, they must go to projects that reach out to and bring a new audience or new business. The $19,402 has to go to marketing and promotion in a way we haven’t done it before,” Anderson County tourism director Robbie Morgan said.
