Lawrenceburg native Robbie Morgan has been hired as the new director of the Lawrenceburg/Anderson County Tourism Commission, the agency announced.

She replaces Kendall Clinton, who resigned earlier this year.

Morgan said she’s excited to join the agency and help bring visitors to Anderson County.
“I look forward to working with the community to unearth the cultural assets and continue to tell the wonderful history of the people of this town,” Morgan said in a news release.
Morgan has years of experience in organizing large events, fundraising and the hospitality business. After graduating from the University of Toronto, Morgan, who now lives in Lexington, became the college’s alumni development director and served as director of volunteers for LexArts. She has also served as director of events and sponsorships for Smiley Pete Publishing and created and managed Crave Lexington Food & Music. She has executed fundraising events for the University of Kentucky Art Museum and most recently owned and managed a successful Lexington restaurant, which she sold to stay at home with her infant son, Harrison.

Gene Wilhoit, chair of the tourism board, said the board was impressed with Morgan’s experience and unique ideas for promoting special events, comfort with engaging citizens and community leadership in multiple settings, creative ideas about future potential events and activities, communication skills and acute awareness of Lawrenceburg and Anderson County, according to a news release.

“Ms. Morgan has a dynamic, highly creative and productive career and a diverse range of experiences to bring to the position of Director of Tourism for our historic and growing community,” the news release said.
