2020 is the Year in Music in Kentucky

Nashville recording artist and Kentucky native J.D. Shelburne will represent the Bluegrass state on the cover of the 2020 official visitor’s guide to help celebrate the Year of Music in Kentucky.

The cover was revealed on Wednesday during a ceremony in the rotunda of the Kentucky Capitol and included a performance by Shelburne.

Lawrenceburg and Anderson County will be part of this year-long celebration, with musical events taking place throughout the year.

Starting in March, Sand Spring Baptist Church will resume their free monthly gospel concerts, which feature some of the top names in gospel music, drawing in visitors from around Kentucky and other states. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend free concerts again on the Lawrenceburg Green during the summer concert series.

At least three festivals planned for Lawrenceburg in 2020 – Wildman Days, Stave Fest, and the Anderson County Burgoo Festival – are expected to have live music. Another live music event in Lawrenceburg is in the planning stages right now and will be announced when the details are finalized.

Along with special events featuring live music, there are venues in Lawrenceburg that bring in musicians to perform throughout the year, such as Bourbon Street on Main, Hannah’s Sports Bar, Verona Pizza, Heavens to Betsy! and others.
