June 21 concert features Groove, brews, and food

It’s almost time to groove on the Green.

The first summer concert for 2019 is coming up on Friday, June 21 and will feature the Knoxville, Tennessee-based band Groove Evolution, which has two members who are natives of Frankfort.

The 70s and 80s classic rock cover band performs regularly around the East Tennessee region, with influences including Journey, Toto, Kansas, Boston, Night Ranger, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Spyro Gyra, Prince, and more.

Originally from Frankfort, Steve Rutledge handles the guitar work and some of the vocals. Also a Frankfort native, Alyssa Laine is a newer member of the band and takes care of vocals as well. The band is rounded out by Brett Knaffl on the keyboard, Ryan Byrne on bass, and  Chris Beals on the drums.

The concert is from 7-10 p.m. on the Lawrenceburg Green, but bring the kids out early to enjoy the inflatables and cold treats from Kona Ice.  Adults can relax with a beer from West Sixth Brewing and everybody can feast from the Taqueria Garcia food truck.
