Lawrenceburg’s Four Roses receives “World’s Best Bourbon” honor

The best bourbon in the world was produced in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

The honor of being World’s Best Bourbon was bestowed on Four Roses for its 130th Anniversary 2018 Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon in the 2019 World Whiskies Awards. The announcement was made during the Whisky Magazine Awards New York program on January 30.

“The competition for the World Whiskies Awards is strong, so it’s a tremendous honor for our 130th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch to be recognized by the judging panel as the World’s Best Bourbon,” said Brent Elliott, Four Roses Master Distiller. “I wanted to create something special to celebrate 130 years of handcrafting premium Bourbon and I could not be happier with this bottling.”

The World Whiskies Awards judging panel includes leading international spirits journalists and industry experts. Judges first selected Four Roses 130th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch as Best Kentucky Bourbon and it went on to be named World’s Best Bourbon, with scores topping bourbons made outside Kentucky as well.

Four Roses Single Barrel and Four Roses Small Batch also were recognized as part of the awards, both earning Gold honors from judges.
