Christmas Lights on Parade is 2018 theme

The bright lights of Christmas will stream by during this year’s Lawrenceburg Christmas parade, which begins at dusk on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Parade entries are encouraged to light up their floats, vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and even themselves. Businesses and homeowners along the route are also encouraged to put out their best display of Christmas lights to help make this parade spectacularly festive.

Glen Drury, who coached the Anderson County High School  boys’ basketball team for 31 years before retiring in May, will be this year’s grand marshal.

The parade starts at 5 p.m. at the American Legion Park on Broadway Street and then proceeds up Main Street and through downtown. There will be complimentary hot chocolate served on the courthouse lawn beginning at 4:30 p.m. Glow sticks will be handed out to spectators along the parade route to help everyone light the way.

For more information about the parade contact the tourism office at 502-598-3127 or city hall at 502-839-5372.
